There is a strong sense of community within Ledbury. Our local church loves getting involved with activities at school and often members of the parish council come into hear children read. This is a partnership that is enjoyed by all. This appears to be the case in Mtwar at Lilungu Primary school, we hope that the link which we form between both schools could be extended into the wider community (to involve the churches) and that both can benefit even more from an already good relationship.
Ann Tombs is particularly involved with the development of this trip and published these thoughtful words in the Ledbury Parish news.
As we move into the summer and holiday period I ask that you think about our schools, particularly Ledbury Primary School and Lilungu School in Mtwara. Annika Thurgood and Catriona Hope will be making their journey to Tanzania at the end of July with a group of teachers from Hereford and Worcester. This will be a real pilgrimage and such an important step in global education for the young children of Ledbury and Mtwara. Opportunities should abound, and doors should be opened for both communities to connect and communicate with each other. Please pray for Annika and Catriona that they may maintain their enthusiasm and return with inspiration for all of us.
Ann Tombs
Thank you Ann.
